What time does the Rodeo start?
8:00am Saturday and 8:00am Sunday.
What time does the Rodeo finish?
At about 9pm Saturday and about 5pm Sunday.
What time is the Bull Ride on?
Sections of the competition are held at different times during the day. There is also Bull Ride on Saturday night. See the Order Of Events.
When is the best time to come to the Rodeo?
Anytime. The rodeo events are split into sections so if you were to come along for a half day you would get to see a bit of everything. The most popular events are the Interstate Challenge on Saturday night and the Finals on Sunday afternoon.

Is there other entertainment besides the rodeo?
Yes, there is a cabaret Saturday night with a live band playing to 2am. Sideshow Alley has rides etc available at additional charges. There is also the Beaut Ute Muster, Woodchops, Agricultural Show and Stud Beef Cattle Show.

Pricing And Admission
What is the Gate Admission price?

Are there Family Passes available?
Yes, but they cannot be purchased at the gate. They must be pre-purchased from the Rodeo Office, A Touch of Country or Mareeba Discount Drug store. See Rodeo Info.
Are there Weekend Passes available?
Yes, these can be purchased upon arrival at the gate. You must purchase a weekend pass in order to camp overnight. See Rodeo Info.
When does the gate charge commence?
The gate is manned from Friday morning right through to Sunday afternoon. Anyone coming in from Friday morning, until 7am Saturday will have to purchase a weekend pass. Day passes are only available from 7am on the day of arrival and do not permit entrance to the camping area.

About Mareeba
Will it be raining?
Most likely not. There's only a 3% chance of a rainy day in Mareeba during July. Even if it is raining along the coast it would most probably be clear in Mareeba as the mountain range stops the rain coming inland.
Will the weather be hot or cold?
Both. During the day the average July temperature is 25.4°C (highest 34.9°C), but the temperature drops down to an average 11°C at night (lowest 0.7°C). So bring a hat and sunscreen for the day and a coat for the night.
Where is Mareeba?
Mareeba is (in driving time) ½ hour from Kuranda, ½ hour from Atherton, 1 hour from Cairns and 1 hour from Port Douglas. For location details click here.
What is the best way to get to Mareeba?
Private vehicle or hire car is the easiest option. There is plenty of free parking space.
Is it bitumen road all the way to Kerribee Park?
Yes.
Is there transport to Mareeba?
Yes. Trans North (46 Spence Street, Cairns) run a bus service from Cairns to Mareeba. But once in Mareeba you will have to get a taxi to Kerribee Park, about 4 km out of town.
Is there public transport in Mareeba?
No, but there are taxis.

General Information
Where can I stay in Mareeba?
You can camp at the Kerribee Park grounds for free on rodeo weekend, you just pay your gate admission fee for the weekend (be prepared for it to be cold overnight). There are also hotels, motels and caravan parks in Mareeba and surrounding areas. See the Mareeba Heritage & Information Centre website for more information.
Can I book a seat or a camping spot?
No, there is plenty of seating and camping and it is all on a first come-first served basis.
Is there a charge for Camping?
Not over Rodeo weekend, but fees apply any other time. See the Accommodation page.
Is there food available?
Yes. There are a variety of different food stalls in sideshow alley covering everything from snacks to meals and healthy to not quite so healthy food choices.
Are there toilets and showers?
Yes, there are 3 ladies and 3 mens' amenities blocks.
Can I bring my own food, drink and eskies?
Yes, but Kerribee Park is a glass free area so please don't bring in any glass bottles.
Can I take an esky with me onto the grandstands?
No eskies (of food or drink) are allowed in the grandstands, they take up too much space.
Where can I drink alcohol at Kerribee Park?
BYO alcohol must be left (and consumed) in your vehicle or at your campsite. Do not bring alcohol out to the grandstands, side-show alley, amenities blocks or any other public area. Liquor can't be taken into, or out of, the Licensed Bar Area. Under 18's cannot drink alcohol anywhere at Kerribee Park.
